Vicksburg Cruisers 12 March Cruise-In to Vicksburg Convalescent Home
We met at Sonic on Halls Ferry Road - a beautiful day for a cruise. From there we cruised the short distance to Vicksburg Convalescent Home and the First Baptist Church parking lot on Cherry Street at 2:00pm.
The residents were already out waiting our arrival. They really enjoyed getting to see the cars and "remember when". The Cruisers had a good time talking to them about the cars and giving them a real close look at the vehicles.
There was a car show eariler in the morning in Clinton, MS but the folks that went there managed to get back in time to make this visit. The VCCC members present for this visit are our President Pete Dionne in the mighty 1956 Chevy, Vice President Roger Harris in his "Hot Wheels" 1934 Plymouth, Secretary Tony Brooks in the yellow Mustang, Sam Hill with his 1933 Ford, Max Polk and the 1969 Camaro, Roy Pigg with a 1965 Corvette and a 1992 Mustang, Bill Collins in his 1965 Mustang, Micky Parker in the 1968 International Pickup, and Pat Cashman with a 1968 Chevelle and a 1964 Gordon Keebler.
We had several visitors join us today which brought the total to twenty two.
Again, it was a beautiful day for a cruise!
We had 11 club cars this time out! Plus 11 visitors for a total of 22 cars on the parking lot of First Baptist Church on Cherry Street. The residents seemed to be having a real good time looking at the cars and asking a lot of questions.
We got there about 2:00pm and stayed until about 3:30pm. Everyone had a good time. We left and went our separate directions but will meet again real soon.
"Thank You" to all the Cruisers that made this trip, and to our many visitors. You made this a special day for some very special people!
For those of you that could not make it today, you missed giving back some really good moments to those who are less fortunate. Maybe you can join us for the next outing.
We hope to see y'all again very soon!
