Vicksburg Cruisers 17 May Cruise to Shady Lawn Nursing Home in Vicksburg
A small group of us met at the Rite Aid parking lot off of Indiana Avenue. From there we cruised the short distance to Shady Lawn Nursing Home at 6:30 PM. The residents remembered our visit last spring and were anxiously awaiting our arrival. They had a good time talking about the cars and giving them a real close inspection. Several of our members attended car shows in other towns earlier in the day but managed to get back in time to make the visit to Shady Lawn. The members present for this visit are our President Roger Harris driving his 1934 Plymouth, Vice President Paul Kuzinski in his 1964 Chevy Impala Super Sport 409, our Treasurer Richard Engel with his 2002 Z06 Corvette, Sam Hill in his 1934 Plymouth and Pete Dionne with his 1965 Ford F100 pickup. The day was perfect for a cruise.
Again this year we had only 5 club cars that could make the cruise. The small number of cars did not dampen the spirits of the club members or the residents as seen on the smiling faces everwhere.
We only stayed for one hour, but everyone had fun. From there we all went our different ways to meet again for our next cruise on 31 May. Thanks to all the Cruisers that made this trip, this was a very rewarding cruise. For those that could not, you missed giving back some really good moments to those who are less fortunate than we are.
We hope to see everyone for the end of the month cruise.
